Throughout the year we try to get lots of workshops, events and social things on. We also try to do at least one fundraiser a year, non members are also very welcome to join in! Have a read to see what's planned for this year.
80's Bootcamp - 4th August
Come and have a giggle with this 80's themed Bootcamp, the last one was great fun! Everyone welcome, just book your place!
Health & Wellness Workshop - 17th August
We are welcoming Amy into the gym for a Health & Wellness Workshop. It's a picture that requires all parts of the puzzle, we know that you care about your body as you come to the gym, but what about the rest of your needs? This workshop will get you to:
- Think more holistically about yourself, to reflect on what you can control in regard to your wellbeing
- Explore what barriers are really present, and your relationship with them
- Empower yourself to take action for you…
- Find one thing you want to change and put into action
Driathlon - 14th September from 8am
A pairs or solo attempt, no running! Bike, Ski and Row your way to the end of this hours challenge. Please book your place on TeamUp, if you are doing it as pairs both team members need to register. Open to members and non members.
Self Defence Workshop - 18th September 6:30pm
Neil and the boys are going back to give us some more help with that self defence! Everyone welcome, members and non members, including teenagers.
Handstand Workshops with Natalie - 5th October
Beginners 10am - 1pm
Mastering the kick-up into a handstand is a significant milestone in your handstand journey. Our instructors will guide you through the kicking-up process, offering step-by-step guidance and tips to help you develop the necessary strength, control, and confidence for a successful kick-up into a balanced handstand position.
Throughout the Handstand Workshop, you will engage in a variety of drills and exercises specifically designed to improve your balance and stability while in a handstand. We emphasize proper alignment, weight distribution, and body control, as these elements are crucial for enhancing your overall handstand technique.
During the workshop, we maintain a safe and supportive environment. Our instructors will be available to answer your questions, provide personalized guidance, and address any concerns you may have. Our ultimate goal is to help you build confidence, refine your handstand technique, and ensure you have a fantastic time in the process.
Begintermediate 2pm - 5pm
This workshop is designed for individuals like you who are comfortable with kicking up into a handstand against a wall and can confidently hold a chest-to-wall handstand for at least 20 seconds.
Balance is a key aspect of handstands, and we will provide specific drills and exercises to help you improve and refine your balance control. Through targeted practice and feedback, you will develop the necessary skills to find and maintain balance in different handstand positions.
Throughout the workshop, we will be available to answer your questions, offer personalized guidance, and address any concerns you may have. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages growth and learning.
By participating in this workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of handstand alignment, endurance, varied entries, balance, and advanced shapes. Your handstand practice will be enriched, and you will leave with new skills and techniques to continue your progress beyond the workshop.
